Layoff Case Help

Please submit Layoff cases as soon as you have one. Terminations due to Layoff require additional handling by AUSSC and UCPath.  We need to submit local UCPath actions at least two weeks prior to the employee’s termination date.

Always attach the Layoff Letter.
For Collective Bargaining Contracts that provide an option for severance, attach the severance election form. 

 

Aggie Service

Use Termination Case Type. Select Involuntary and choose from the following drop-down Reasons (see descriptions below):

·         Elimination of Position

·         Layoff – Reduced Sev. Reh/Recall

·         Layoff – Rehire/Recall Rights

·         Layoff – Severance

Be sure to select the appropriate Termination Reason. AUSSC cannot advise on what reason to choose.

For staff employees, departments should reach out to Employee and Labor Relations for direction.

For most academic employees, reach out to Dean’s Office or Academic Affairs for direction.

For postdoc employees, reach out to Grad Studies for direction.

NSV - Elimination of PositionUse for termination due to elimination of a MSP position or layoff of an academic position where no severance or rehire rights are provided.
RRR - Layoff - Rehire/Recall RightsUse for indefinite Layoff - Rehire/Recall Rights
SEV - Layoff - SeveranceUse for indefinite Layoff - Severance
RDS - Layoff-Reduced Sev Reh/Recall                                                        Use for indefinite Layoff - Reduced Severance and Preferential Rehire/Recall Rights
